For me nutrition provided a way to re-connect to and understand my body when I was going through IVF.

 

While dietary changes made me physically healthier and more receptive to my IVF protocols it was the impact the changes had on my mental and emotional health and wellbeing which impacted me the most.

 

In addition to the combined roles of our genes and our environment the food we eat has the potential to affect our mental health and wellbeing at every stage of life.

The development of the brain at conception, during pregnancy and throughout the first three years of life are critical stages in this process. 

The preconception period offers invaluable time to identify and modify health issues with either partner. Addressing whether your diet and lifestyle is providing you with the right environment in order to create, carry and nurture a baby.

Your diet and lifestyle doesn't only affect you but also the growth and development of your baby in the womb and in later life.

This preparation time allows you to lay healthy foundations that you can take forward through pregnancy, postpartum and into family life. 

If you learn to integrate healthy habits into your life beforehand it lays helpful foundations for building a healthy thriving family, you can pass on all you have learnt about our bodies needs and how food can nourish us to your children.
